6 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (8 July)

4. Something Is Always Ready

Given that the winner of Jake Something vs. Brian Myers would be deemed a professional by the loser, it was a delightful surprise that the match was fought with such intensity rather than a 'proper' match.

Starting off hot with the pair ignoring the obligatory lock-up, Jake dominated portions of the contest, clubbing away at Myers' back and nailing a decent sit-down Powerbomb. Once Myers took control, the action remained at the same pace. 'The Most Professional Wrestler' bounced back into things with some stellar offence, albeit with help from Sam Beale at one point.

Something hit the Black Hole Slam for the three, before Myers and Beale laid the boots to him afterwards. This was inevitable; in these sorts of stipulation matches, the heel never obliges to the post-match rule. Here? It worked. Matt Cardona returned to fend them off, hitting a Radio Silence on Sam.

This is surely setting up the big blowoff between Cardona and Myers for Slammiversary, but let's wait for that to be formally announced. The big story here is that Cardona looked like the guy who's been taking it to Nick Gage, rather than the guy who used to be Internet Champion. He looked like a million bucks.
