6 Ups & 4 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Jun 21)

1. He's Back

Ever since Rebellion, where he finally captured the World Championship, we've been waiting to see if Brian Cage would be returning to an Impact ring after he'd suffered a back injury in that aforementioned championship match. Now, all the rumours and innuendo can be put to rest as the champion has indeed returned to Impact Wrestling.

Cage made his presence felt following the evening's main event, demolishing Johnny Impact, his corrupt referee John E. Bravo, and his Slammiversary challenger Michael Elgin. Bravo was flattened with a spinebuster while Impact was wiped out with a gorilla press slam on to the ramp and finally, Elgin was downed with a powerbomb, a callback to how he had debuted at Rebellion, when he ambushed Cage to start all of this.

It's fantastic to have the World Champion back on our screens because, well, he's the champion. He's the top guy in the company. We're getting a medical update on the 'Machine' next week to see if he'll be cleared in time for Slammiversary but judging from what we saw here, he'll be going into that match whether he's physically fit to do so or not.
