6 Ups & 4 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (May 31)
1. Wrong Winners
In the opening contest of this week’s episode, we were witness to a six man tag team match. On one side of the ring, we had Moose and The North. On the other side, we had the ECW trio of Tommy Dreamer, Rob Van Dam, and Sabu. Now, to be fair to the six men involved, this was by no means a bad match.
What was bad however was the fact that the old timers ended up with the victory. In the long run, Moose, Ethan Page, and Josh Alexander needed this win more, especially in the case of the latter two. But alas, it would indeed by the ECW lads who walked back through the curtain with the victory intact following a Five Star Frog Splash to All Ego.
Who knows what’s next for Moose, Page, and Alexander. They’ll need to do a whole lot in order to come back from this recent string of losses to all these names of the past. Impact really do need to realise that there’s no benefit from having their younger stars losing to legends of the business. Once or twice is fine, but not week in and week out.
