6 Ups & 4 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (May 31)

5. Filling The Gap

Impact’s tag team division now has a major gap left in it thanks to The Lucha Bros being signed to All Elite Wrestling, but that does mean there’s the chance for other teams to rise up the ranks and take that spot for themselves. Two of those teams are The Deaners and The Desi Hit Squad.

While both teams have received their fair share of criticism in this column – especially in the case of the latter duo – they proved this week that they can hang in Impact’s doubles division. All four men in the match here put in quite the performance. Cody and Jake Deaner both performed suicide dives, while Rohit Raju and Raj Singh utilised a gnarly flatliner/double stomp combo. When it came down to it though, it would be The Deaners getting the win with a schoolboy rollup.

Although it wasn’t the best match of the night, it was definitely up there, and was perhaps both teams' best match since arriving in the company. If they keep putting in this sort of effort, either of the duos could easily be future Tag Team Champions down the line.
