6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Evolution 2025 (Results & Review)

Ups…

6. Thank You, Trish

If anyone needed evidence that WWE did not put a great deal of thought and preparation into Evolution, look no further than how they allowed both women’s world champions to choose their opponents rather than having them earn a shot at the titles.

That said, Tiffany Stratton’s choice of former tag partner/mentor Trish Stratus had the makings of a questionable decision. Trish hadn’t had a singles match against someone not named “Becky Lynch” in nearly six years, and some of those matches against Big Time Becks were sketchy at best.

Still, Trish and Tiff managed to put together a decent WWE Women’s Championship match. It wasn’t a classic by any means – and not on the level of Stratus’ steel cage match against Lynch in 2023 – but as a middle-of-the-card bout to let the younger Stratton rack up a win against a big name, this served its purpose while being better than Tiffany’s match against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 41.

Trish pulled out all her usual spots, but after Tiffany kicked out of Stratusfaction, she went off-book and attempted a moonsault, which backfired and allowed Stratton to flatten her with an Alabama Slam and the Prettiest Moonsault Ever for the win.

Short, inoffensive, fun. Not every match needs to be an epic, 20-minute struggle. On that basis, you’ve got to rate this positively.
