One of the biggest ongoing criticisms of WWE PLEs has been the pacing of the shows. Despite only being five-match cards, they drag on for three-plus hours, with interminable waits between matches.

Then Evolution came along Sunday and reminded fans that WWE actually knows how to properly pace a wrestling show – they choose to not do it that way.

Evolution moved along nicely, with reasonable gaps between matches and not a lot of unnecessary hoopla. The seven-match card flowed well, with none of the contests overstaying their welcome, and the space between not lasting so long that you felt like you could cook a meal during the downtime.

If anything, this should serve as a lesson for WWE: adjust how you pace your other shows to match Evolution and stop with the half-hour gaps. Clearly, you don’t have to do it, so cease and desist.
