DOWNS…

4. Wrestling In Jell-O

Baron Corbin Lexus King

No, that header isn’t being used to describe an Attitude Era women’s “match.” It’s an apt description of a Lexis King match in 2024.

King defeated Baron Corbin in an underwhelming match that occupied space in the semi-main slot, with Lexis using a low blow to gain the advantage and pick up the win. Watching him wrestle, it’s like seeing a baby giraffe move uncertainly around the ring. It’s tough to describe since he’s actually competent, but you don’t come out of a Lexis King match feeling anything for the character.

What made this interesting was seeing Corbin playing a babyface character in a singles match, which is almost unheard of. It would be a fun experiment to see if he could play this role on a regular basis, as he’s been jeered for so long that it might blow everyone’s mind if he remained a fan favorite.
