6. Fans Rally Behind Women’s Tag Match

The women’s tag division has been a huge weak spot for WWE for a while now, with recent matches playing out to silence and apathy from capacity crowds.

But Monday’s tag title match pitting champs Kayden Carter and Katana Chance against former champs Chelsea Green and Piper Niven got some decent noise from the fans, even with some choppy in-ring work. The party girls delivered some good tandem offense (and some that looked clunky), and the fans were firmly in their corner. Green and Niven controlled much of the match, but their arrogance cost them in the end, with Piper accidentally hitting a Vader Bomb on Chelsea.

The TikTok twins put Green down with the Keg Stand to retain, giving fans plenty to cheer. While this wasn’t a great match, it clicked decently and the audience was into it, which carried it and made the near-falls work much better.

The division would benefit from some decent scripting beyond four teams watching the TV screen backstage or squabbling over who gets the next title match. But it’s impossible to ignore fan reaction Monday night.
