Kevin Owens is such a great character that he can make you think there’s an imminent heel turn just by a few subtle details.

KO and Sami Zayn challenged new tag champs Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Monday night, pitting four babyfaces against each other. But Owens made it a point to refuse to offer any platitudes or respect. Throw in what must have been a production error of playing Zayn’s old heel theme and fans were left wondering if there was going to be a heel turn over the titles. It wasn’t an overwhelming sensation, but just enough to be in the back of your mind.

The tag title match itself was great, as one would expect from these four wrestlers. There were counters upon counters, a wild brawl outside, several near-falls on both sides, and finally, a definitive finish that saw the champs retain.

Then there was the respect afterward. After months of denying Jey Uso even a hint of acknowledgement, Owens finally accepted Jey and shook his hand. All was right to close out Raw.

For now.
