2. Drew Is Who He Says He Is

The slow burn heel turn of Drew McIntyre continues to be a fascinating story on Raw, with the Scottish Warrior essentially playing both sides Monday night.

McIntyre came out to challenge Seth Rollins face-to-face for his World Heavyweight Championship, slapping hands with fans and wanting to fight a near-100% Visionary. Sounds like a pretty upstanding guy, right?

Except that when Damian Priest jumped Rollins afterward, Drew just stood there in the aisle and watched it, only intervening when Dominik Mysterio tried to carry the Money in the Bank briefcase to the ring.

Rollins called it out later and McIntyre perfectly responded, noting that he hasn’t “told one lie” about his intentions, that he doesn’t get involved unless in involves him, which the WHC title becoming property of the Judgment Day would certainly become his problem.

McIntyre’s calm and collected demeanour and self-justified (and even justified in reality) reasoning make this long-form turn really intriguing. He’s still slapping hands with fans and seems pretty reasonable, if somewhat aloof at times. But at some point, he’s going to hit a tipping point, and it’s going to be fun to watch the slide.
