3. Drew Winning = Right Call

Fears that WWE would take the cowardly route and have Kevin Owens attack Randy Orton (thus forcing a DQ) were washed away by Drew McIntyre's Claymore Kick then three count. At first, it was a slight shock that the company even booked a proper finish at all here, but they couldn't exactly mimic the same disqualification conclusion forced by Jacob Fatu during LA Knight vs. Braun Strowman earlier.

Drew winning was totally refreshing.

He and Randy had less than 10 minutes of ring time to work with, but their bout was still a case of two masters at their craft trading blows. It was never less than watchable. Better yet, Owens distracting Randy and handing the victory on a plate to McIntyre was the right way to go. Drew needed a win like this, and now Randy has even more motivation to punt KO’s skull into the third row at WrestleMania.

For reference, Kev escaped the punt yet again. There's simply no way Triple H gives that away before WWE lands on the Vegas strip. It's too big a moment within the framework of this feud and KO's heel turn. His ultimate comeuppance will be an Orton-sized boot to the bonce, then he'll probs take some time out until summer; that'll let others on the WWE roster shine.

WWE got everything right with Drew and Randy on Friday. The setup was good, there are WWE Title hints being dropped everywhere, KO got involved to keep things purring with Orton, and McIntyre scored a momentum boosting victory heading into his match vs. Damian Priest.

Speak of the devil.
