1. Even John Cena Jabs Can’t Save This

Serious question: Is anybody buzzed about next week's clash between Paige and Nikki Bella in Mexico City?

Paige walked in on Nikki's promo to say that Bella hasn’t actually liked her since day one because she built her career on “hustle, loyalty and respect”. That was a clear Cena dig there, obviously. Sadly, that’s really all this feud has. WWE knows the turncoat story with Nikki ditching Paige as soon as she, her sister Brie and the Brit lost to Fatal Influence isn't interesting, so they had to go with low hanging fruit.

Bella’s ambush last week was terrible too, and there’s no reason to expect their match on SmackDown next week will be any use. Neither woman has been a shining star between the ropes since returning to WWE, and some of Nikki's singles matches against the likes of Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer even dipped into kinda rubbish territory. In other words, this could get messy, so fingers crossed they've got a simple layout and don't try to go hard and heavy on time.

Another point is worth making: What is this going to achieve? Paige and Bella are veterans of the division who'd be much better off either helping younger workers pave their way or in tag situations. Matching them up against one another feels like WWE creative bowing to their personal pitches rather than looking at what's best for business.

There's plenty of star power here, of course, but that and cutting remarks about Bella's old relationship with Cena is really all the storyline has.
