6 Ups & 5 Downs For WWE Raw (7 July - Results & Review)

1. Shockingly Good Chemistry

WWE Raw Penta Seth Rollins
WWE

Who had Seth Rollins and Penta on their bingo card for “first-time matchups that really clicked”? Because these two had a pretty good little main event on Monday night.

Recognizing the situation with Sami Zayn and Jey Uso already on the shelf, Penta jumped Rollins at the bell and battered him, but Seth regained control for a bit before Penta responded with a Slingblade and Backstabber. The two traded signatures in rapid succession, with Rollins kicking out of the Penta Driver. Rollins would toss Penta into a Buckle Bomb, but the luchador rebounded into a Mexican Destroyer for a close two count.

Rollins picked up the win with an “inadvertent” low headbutt, followed by a stomp. This was an all-action match that didn’t fuss about or dwell in the melodrama. They played off each other nicely, and Penta looked like he belonged in there, even if the eventual outcome was never in doubt.

And just to put a cherry on top, LA Knight slid in to drop Rollins with a BFT before Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed could get to the ring, giving fans a nice stinger for Saturday Night’s Main Event, as well as giving Penta an opportunity to escape a three-on-one assault. Good stuff here to close out the evening.
