6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (14 April - Results & Review)

1. ‘The Future Of The Industry’

WWE Raw Seth Rollins Paul Heyman Roman Reigns
WWE

Be serious for a moment: Is anyone buying the triple threat between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk as potentially defining the entire wrestling industry, even within the confines of WWE and its own storyline?

The match outcome might not even define the next six weeks of booking, particularly if Roman wins and goes on his usual post-WrestleMania holiday.

Rollins’ character might believe everything he’s saying, but turning a compromise match shoehorned into a main event slot it doesn’t deserve into an industry-defining battle is just a *bit* more than a stretch, bro. At this point, put Paul Heyman on a pole as the prize in the match since everyone has staked a claim to him.

WWE’s knack for trying to turn every big match into some earth-shattering, all-consequential battle for the soul of the company rings hollow most of the time, but this was particularly a reach. Just focus on three main-event talent trying to position themselves best to reclaim glory post-'Mania and move on.
