UPS…

6. A Much Better Choice

Ricochet The Miz

Money in the Bank does need its ground-based heels that can stir up emotions as a possible briefcase winner. But we’ve done The Miz route a few times now, and we really didn’t need the 2010 winner threatening to win again in 2023.

So, it was the right call – and a relief of sorts – to see Ricochet pick up the win in a better-than-average qualifying match against Miz. Credit to Miz for stepping up a bit from his normal paint-by-numbers offense for the match with Ricochet, including a hurricanrana and a springboard crossbody. He even pulled off a nice Codebreaker/DDT combo for a near-fall.

But it was all for nought as Ricochet earned his spot in the ladder match with a Shooting Star Press, further exciting and already fired-up crowd. The One and Only should be good for at least one breathtaking, “how did he do that?” moment during Money in the Bank.
