For fans who have been paying attention for the past couple of months, Monday night’s announcement of the men’s WarGames match should have come as no surprise.

The Judgment Day has been embroiled in a battle with several Raw wrestlers consistently for a while now, and wild brawls have punctuated the show several times this fall. It boiled over Monday night when the foursome battled at ringside with Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes.

All that was missing was the official announcement, which Adam Pearce provided after expressing exasperation at the constant mayhem. It wasn’t on the level of William Regal, but it still fired up the crowd, and that’s really all anyone could ask for here.

Besides that, the match should be fantastic, especially if they find a way to batter Dominik Mysterio for a good while. And there’s the added wrinkle of the World Heavyweight Champion and Money in the Bank briefcase holder being in the same match, which could raise an interesting angle if WWE were so inclined…
