6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (July 25)
1. The Jobber Day
Last week, we gave positive marks to WWE setting the table for a potentially big development in the ongoing Mysterios/Judgement Day storyline, with the return of Edge possibly factoring in. But we also hedged, saying it could lead nowhere and the kudos could be misplaced.
Well, here we are.
There’s nothing wrong with Rey winning a tag match with his son on the 20th anniversary of his WWE debut. Let’s just be clear there. But to have the Judgement Day lost cleanly like a couple of goofs, and Dominik doesn’t turn, and Edge doesn’t show… and then Judgement Day attacks Rey after all of that?
Judgement Day interrupting the party to get revenge after looking like geeks in the ring is a sad attempt at recovering from the loss.
If you wanted to give Rey a victory out there, why not have them wrestle another tag team, then do the Rhea Ripley return and Judgement Day stuff? It just read as a “the feud must continue” than some emphatic statement.
