6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 6)
1. The General Apathy Towards TLC
The TLC gimmick, much like Hell In A Cell and Money In The Bank, used to be one of WWE's most potent weapons. Now, it's something that bores the arse off company figureheads. Next Sunday's pay-per-view smacks of a Starrcade-style special that's being called a full-blown supershow.
It's not.
Of the three matches WWE has announced so far for the card, only one is a title bout, and that's a rematch from several months ago that the writers want everyone to forget about. Elsewhere, The Miz is a placeholder to keep Bray Wyatt busy until he either wrestles Daniel Bryan again or does something else, and Roman Reigns vs. 'King' Corbin has the titular gimmick for...reasons.
The air around WWE is thick with apathy for the final pay-per-view of the year, and that came across on Friday night. It's obvious to everyone that creative can't wait until it's over and they can move on to booking January's Royal Rumble.
