6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Feb 19)

4. Apollo Crews Finally Gets Direction

Apollo Crews' WWE career has been mediocre to date.

Although he looks great, is clearly talented and likely has his cheerleaders, Crews has never been all that exciting. In fairness, the dude was never really booked to be exciting. He was the living, breathing, walking and talking definition of bland "WWE Superstar" who rocks it on an 8x10.

This heel turn should change that. There's no reason why Apollo can't use his antics on SmackDown as a springboard to bigger and better opportunities - he deserves it, because his performance was suitably vicious here. Crews cut a workable pre-match promo, lost to Shinsuke Nakamura then attacked both Shin and Big E afterwards.

That shot with the steel steps is what people will remember, not his loss to Nakamura (which didn't need to happen, but yes). Despite all that good stuff, this fan is still not sold on an IC Title rematch between Apollo and E. It feels like they need a break, and it'd also be silly to book another loss for Crews any time soon.
