6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Mar 27)

3. Nikki F'n Cross

Nikki Cross, like Sami Zayn, has been receiving plaudits on social media for her guest commentary work. She did well, but the Scot might want to calm down a little and stop rushing through lines in the future. Nikki did get a little carried away at times, and she stepped on Cole's toes a little too often.

Those minor negatives pale in comparison to the positives.

Cross' passionate delivery sucked viewers into the match between Asuka and Alexa Bliss. She enhanced what would've been a throwaway bout by throwing every punch, ducking every clothesline and emoting every single bump. The energy was welcome (even though Cole didn't seem to know what the hell to do with the tightly-wound ball of pre-workout sitting next to him).

If Vince McMahon was watching, he can't have been down on Nikki's work here. Sure, she was barely intelligible at times, but she did put on quite the performance and sounded excited to be there. That's all anyone can ask for.
