6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (7 Sept - Results & Review)

3. ‘Stacking Bodies’

WWE Raw Big Cass Je'Von Evans

Did you know that since returning to WWE, Big Cass has just been “stacking bodies”? Apparently, each attack of Je’Von Evans counts as a separate body.

Setting aside the silliness of that line, Cass’ pre-taped promo was the most generic, Route 101 big man promo you will ever hear: he came back to win titles; he looks, walks, talks, and acts like a champion; he passes the airport test; and soon everyone will find out what he’s all about.

This read like there was a writers’ strike and they had to dig up an old promo from the '70s for Cass to read. It could have come from any generic big man during the past 40 years. That’s not necessarily a bad thing on its own, but as it’s been noted multiple times, Cass has a natural charisma that translates both as a face and a heel. None of that came through in this video.

Seriously, give that promo to Snitsky, or Mark Jindrak, or Luther Reigns, or Mason Ryan. All of them could deliver it word-for-word, and it would have worked at a basic, bland level. That’s really dismal writing for someone like Cass here.
