6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Nov 23)

Downs…

6. Forever Stumbling

Can someone with insight into the WWE writers explain what they’re doing with Lana?

After emerging from Survivor Series as the sole survivor in the women’s elimination match, Lana was doing an interview on Monday night and rebuffed a suggestion that she should challenge for the Raw Women’s Championship, saying she was proud of winning on Sunday, calling it the highlight of her career. (Seriously?) But Asuka interpreted that as a challenge and accepted, setting up a title match.

Just like that Lana stumbled ass-backward into a title match despite doing nothing to earn it – or even ask for it. Then she fought Asuka for about 2 minutes before Nia Jax caused a DQ, setting up a tag match that saw Lana finally fight back with Nia and luckily avoid a charging Jax. This would lead to Asuka rolling up a preoccupied Shayna Baszler for the win.

And thus, Lana breaks the streak of going through a table after celebrating her accidental win on Sunday and stumbling into a championship match on Monday. Are we supposed to cheer her? Boo her? Pity her? What? Someone tell us!
