6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Nov 29)
4. Hurt Business B-Team
It’s almost impossible to look at Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander and not immediately thing of an old WCW mainstay stable, the nWo B-Team.
For those too young, the nWo B-Team came about when the oversized group split into two separate groups: the elite stars who wore red-and-black shirts, and the goobers who wore the traditional black-and-white gear. The B-Team were the guys in the nWo who never really amounted to much in the group, and they constantly lost match after match, rarely interacting with the elite squad despite being part of the same faction.
That’s how it feels with Bobby Lashley & MVP and Benjamin & Alexander. Technically, Shelton & Cedric are part of the Hurt Business again, but you almost never see them with Lashley anymore, and MVP doesn’t come out to manage their matches. On Monday, they were on their own as they lost to Rey & Dominik Mysterio, continuing their run of futility.
It’s just embarrassing to see them considered to be part of the Hurt Business in name only and then get jobbed out week after week. And it doesn’t do anything to help the name value of the Hurt Business either.
