6 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE's Road To WrestleMania 36

6. Elimination Chamber

On that note...

Despite the fact that Shayna Baszler came out looking like a destructive MMA-meets-wrestling machine and some of the other matches were fun in the moment, it's fair to say that Elimination Chamber 2020 was skippable stuff. Honestly, this was a pay-per-view best-enjoyed via snippets and highlights rather than by watching the full thing.

WWE must've known that'd be the case going in. Both the Chamber and Super Show-Down events (heat for that is coming, don't worry) were totally needless additions to the supershow schedule between the Rumble-WrestleMania. In fact, the only pay-per-view style card worth watching was NXT TakeOver: Portland, and even that had stuttering importance (Bianca Belair was never winning that title, folks).

Perhaps the only saving grace is that WWE didn't stick the absurdly-boring Fastlane concept in as another "speed bump" on their 'Road' towards 'Mania. That show, much like some others on the PPV schedule, could do with either buggering off or being rebranded.
