1. RIP Bray Wyatt

What the actual hell was that?

The moment that it was announced that Bray Wyatt was going to wrestle as “himself,” fans were intrigued by what that actually meant. We’ve only seen The Fiend compete on TV since Wyatt returned to WWE, so it would be interesting to see how the Mister Rogers wannabe was handled in the “real world” of WWE.

The answer: Not well.

It started off fine, with Wyatt vamping like a babyface, playing to the crowd and giggling, still wearing an argyle sweater. He didn’t try to fight back against Miz, trying instead to calm him down as Miz pummeled Bray. But then Wyatt went for Sister Abigail, only to have Miz escape and the match continue. Wyatt kept changing between covering up and looking like he was switching personas.

Then he hit a Sister Abigail on the floor, and another in the ring, and it was over.

The prospect of having Bray wrestle as his kids show persona was always iffy, but it came off horribly. Had they done it smartly, it could have worked. They could have had Miz show actual fire at attack Bray mercilessly, while Wyatt begged off and somehow absorbed everything, until he snapped and caught Miz with one quick Sister Abigail for the pin. Then Wyatt immediately looked shocked by what happened and apologized to Miz profusely for the momentary psychotic break.

But instead we got a match that played out to silence because it just didn’t work.
