6 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's NXT (16 Sep)

In a wonderful piece of news for the millions of us who only know what day it is based on the wrestling show we're employed to watch, NXT made it's long-awaited return to Wednesday night's this week. No more missed pun opportunities, no more jolting upright on a Tuesday night because the Ol' Farmer Content is here to give your udders a surprise going over, back to the relative safety of scheduled viewing.

Of course, with the return of normality comes the return of open warfare, and NXT once again measures itself by its success relative to the other channel. Two championship matches were booked in, with Breezango facing Imperium and Timothy Thatcher getting a crack at Damien Priest. By recent standards, an understated card.

Elsewhere Io Shirai would wrestle Shotzi Blackheart, and we were promised an interview with the new NXT Champion Finn Balor. As ever, it's usually when this show promises the least that it delivers the most, so any fears of a dull night should be largely unfounded. Hopefully, anyway.

Either way, none of us are getting any younger, so let's see what the evening had in store for us.
