2. Tomato? Tomasso? (Let's Call The Whole Thing Off)

I still have no idea what the point is here.

Tomasso Ciampa, at one time considered NXT's biggest star, a man who has headlined innumerable TakeOvers and been a fixture in the main-event scene for years now; a man whose character was in desperate need of reinvention, and who departed the company in almost perfect circumstances to accomplish this.

Yet since his return - where he just, like, appeared unadvertised to take on Jake Atals of all people - his sole contribution to the show has been two squashes, and a defeat in the Championship match. Ask yourself, do you care? What are we supposed to be taking from this? If he's a brutal killer, why has he not brutally killed anyone we're really invested in?

If he's so bad now, why is Jake Atlas back already? If he's at the top of the food chain, why was he an afterthought in the NXT Championship match? NXT is desperate for stars right now, and here's one just playing with his dick in the midcard. Baffling.
