6 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (May 11)
1. Joe Vs Balor: The Final Chapter
Finn Balor had just gotten through with Elias Samson when he grabbed the microphone and once more turned his attention to Samoa Joe. Balor talked about how he was once obsessed with NXT and obsessed with the NXT Championship, but now he wasn't obsessed - he was possessed. It was actually the strongest promo Balor's cut in a while.
Samoa Joe, title belt in tow, made his way out to the ring in a fury. He shouted that Balor didn't deserve another shot at the belt, and he'd have to go to the back of the line. William Regal saw things differently, though - he came out and announced that at TakeOver: Revenge, Joe would defend the championship against Balor, marking the third straight TakeOver main event between the two men.
Joe was beside himself, raving about how Balor wasn't in line for a title shot. "The Demon" responded by hitting the ropes, diving to the outside, and taking out Joe with a somersault plancha. The NXT Champion fell to the floor, dropping his belt, and the show closed on a high note.
