6 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's Raw (April 17)
3. Four-Way Fray
The best and longest match of the show came at the top of the second hour, when Alexa Bliss, Mickie James, Nia Jax, and Sasha Banks all fought in a four-way bout to determine who would get a shot at Bayley's Raw Women's Championship at Payback. Even before the bout started, it felt important, as throughout the show, video packages were aired for each competitor.
The match was wild, with Jax playing the spoiler with power moves. Meanwhile, the other three women battled it out, locking in submissions and trying to claim a win in the brief opportunities they had. The end came when Banks locked Bliss in the Banks Statement, but James made the save. Jax came in the ring and laid Banks out with a Samoan Drop, but Bliss knocked her between the ropes and covered Banks to get the pin.
It was a little surprising to see Bliss win, given that one would assume Bayley-Bliss is a big match for down the road that deserves some buildup, but it was still great. It sucks to see Banks take another loss, but hopefully a heel turn and a major SummerSlam bout with Bayley are in the cards.
