6 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night’s WWE Raw (April 6th)
5. The Challenger That Gravity Forgot
In an staggeringly brilliant piece of booking, Kane thrust Seth Rollins into a match against a challenger unbeknownst to him. As the WWE champ stood in the ring waiting on the reveal of who he would be facing, we got our second appearance of the newly-called up Neville. The former NXT champion garnered a great reaction, including the crowd engaging in an NXT chant, and proceeded to have an awesome match with Rollins. This was so atypical of WWEs normal booking when introducing a new performer, where they normally trade wins for a while and then embark on a losing streak before the company ever decides to push them that it was incredibly fresh and unique. In one match they took a guy who may have struggled to get over without the proper booking and established him as an immediate threat while giving him a high profile platform to showcase to the audience what this remarkable talent is capable of. This was an awesome segment and hopefully a sign of things to come for the standout aerial performer.
