Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose haven’t partnered together in more than three years, since Rollins turned his back on the Shield and attacked Ambrose and Roman Reigns. But in wrestling terms, three years is a lifetime, so why Raw was a vehicle for Ambrose and Rollins to slowly trust and help each other again is beyond comprehension.

Rollins bailed out Ambrose first, saving him from a three-on-one beatdown by Miz, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. Dean didn’t take kindly to that and told him to stay out of his business, noting that he didn’t trust him. But when a wounded Rollins was being pummeled by the same trio at the end of Raw, Ambrose charged to the rescue with a chair and saved Seth.

Look, if this was nine months ago and Rollins was just starting to show signs of turning face, then it would be understandable. Reigns showed a healthy dose of skepticism, but a lot of that as proven unfounded over time.

This doesn’t mean that Ambrose should have hugged Rollins and thanked him, but this tit-for-tat to establish trust just felt… weird. It probably doesn’t help that both men are in feuds that stink right now.
