While the odds might be stacked against him, seeing Finn Balor capture the win in Monday’s triple threat to earn a spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match was a nice moment on Raw.

Balor has been on the cusp for several months now, competing in quality matches for the Intercontinental Championship and doing OK overall, but he has failed to break through and capture gold or fight for the Universal Championship. Finn took a step in the right direction Monday, as he’ll now battle for the MITB briefcase next month.

Sure, he probably won’t capture the briefcase, but as the old adage goes, you can’t win the game if you don’t play. It would be nice if Balor would cease to be the bridesmaid and be the bride once, but we’ll take this victory tonight.
