6 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 25)
5. Mickie Shows Up
When Mickie James returned to WWE last year, she first appeared as a challenger to Asuka for her NXT Women’s Championship. She hung with the Empress of Tomorrow and showed that she still had plenty left in the tank.
But then she returned to the main roster and quickly became little more than enhancement talent, serving as a stepping stone for other women. However, on Monday, James came out to confront Alexa Bliss for comments the Raw Women’s Champion made after No Mercy.
The encounter was an interesting one, with Bliss and Mickie sparring on the mic and scoring some age jokes (with Alexa referencing Myspace as the last time Mickie was relevant, and James talking about breaking down barriers in WWE before Bliss was in a training bra) before the former six-time women’s champ superkicked Little Miss Bliss out of the ring.
It’s a shame WWE treated Mickie like a nobody the last several months, because she could have had a really good feud with Alexa, but this still was decently done.
