After becoming a brief third wheel in the Finn Balor/Bray Wyatt feud, it was good to see Goldust reassert himself Monday night.

Goldust had been a villain for a while, but fighting Wyatt and having his facepaint wiped off turned him into a fan favorite briefly, only for the Golden One to lash out at Balor for treating him like a victim who needed help. Goldust’s backstage assault led to a match, with Goldy hanging with Finn for a while before finally succumbing.

No one would have thought that Goldust would defeat Balor, but the match and backstage segment tied the storyline together nicely and let ‘Dust play his role as a low-level heel perfectly.
