6 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (April 27th)
1. Too Soon For Reigns... Again
For a little bit, it looked like WWE was going to do the right thing and take its time to rehab Roman Reigns and build him back up into a main event star fans want to see. Like it or not, Reigns Last Man Standing match with Big Show actually did a good job of rallying fans behind the former Shield member. Roman was constantly fighting from underneath, overcoming some hellacious bumps to deliver a few major bombs himself and ultimately win. Reigns also was starting to sound a little more confident on the microphone. Not having sufferin succotash written for you will often help with that. Monday night, we learned that WWE decided that the long path back to the main event was about a month in length, with Reigns being inserted into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship triple threat match. So once again, Reigns is being put into a situation in which he either has to win the title or look like a loser. He hasnt reached a point in his career where he can just lose a world title match and not have it damage his image. Lose too many of those matches and fans simply wont buy you as champion no matter how much the front office loves you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoKPlVKM9fU It would have been better to see Reigns versus Big Show one more time, or Roman taking on Luke Harper or Mark Henry rather than being interjected into a situation where failure can start to do long-term damage. Just ask Lex Luger about not winning the big one.
