6 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Jan 2)

1. An Interesting Twist

If WWE is going down this road, then count this writer in…

Monday night, Bayley approached Stephanie McMahon and brought up having her win over Charlotte a couple weeks ago voided (due to Charlotte’s shoulder being up). But Bayley took exception to Dana Brooke being named special referee for their rematch last week. Stephanie was dismissive of Bayley, pointing out that these were decisions above her pay grade.

Stephanie then launched into Bayley, saying she didn’t want her on Raw, that she didn’t belong and that Charlotte had the pedigree, power and status to be queen. Bayley, on the other hand, according to Steph, was too plain and ordinary.

If WWE is going to have Stephanie be the evil authority figure standing in Bayley’s way on her match to winning the title, then the company might have found a way to use McMahon effectively finally. Of course, this also assumes that Bayley will get comeuppance on Stephanie at some point, and not just by beating Charlotte at WrestleMania XXXIII.

But for now, this was a nice start to something.
