6 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 11th)
1. Bryan Surrenders IC Title
Without a doubt, the saddest development Monday night had to be Daniel Bryan relinquishing the Intercontinental Championship and announcing that he still didnt know how long he would be on the shelf. For fans, its déjà vu all over again, with Bryan gaining a major victory at WrestleMania, just to see it all snatched away due to injury. Fans chanted, Thank you Bryan! as if they believed that this was D-Brys in-ring retirement, but really, you cant blame them. Two unknown injuries a year apart does not bode well for the long-term plans and future of a wrestler. That knowledge leaves you with a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ3m9waPHkA Personal, selfish feelings aside, this is a smart move for Bryan, putting his personal health first and (hopefully) getting himself in better shape to compete at a high level. You would like to believe that the way in which he surrendered the IC title that it would be treated as a serious wrestling title, but it remains to be seen if WWE can pull that off.
