6 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Raw (June 13)

3. A Distraction Finish That Makes Sense

Normally, a wrestler being distracted by something outside the ring and losing focus on his match (read: his job) would be a “down,” but Kevin Owens is something special.

KO lost a rematch to Ezekiel Monday night when he was counted out while arguing with the announcers about his opponent’s name. All of this sounds crazy, but if you’ve been following along, this should be nothing new. Owens has been losing his mind about Ezekiel, insisting that he isn’t Elias’ younger brother, he is Elias.

Owens has spent weeks on commentary arguing with the announcers and insisting they call him “Elias.” So it actually made sense when he was bounced to the outside mid-match, overheard the commentators calling him Ezekiel and lost it on them. And it made sense that he became consumed with this rather than his match.

Simple, plausible, and it gave Zeke an easy win to set up a rubber match.
