A Wellness Policy violation isn’t the end of a career. Sure, it certainly doesn’t look good for the talent, and can help speed up a release, but most wrestlers who have been busted have continued on fairly close to where they were before. However, that’s not always the case.

For years, Randy Orton was near the level of John Cena in management’s eyes. But in 2012, Orton was busted with his second violation, and had to miss 60 days of work. The pay-per-view before his suspension, he was on the official poster of the show (Over the Limit), and battled in a four-way for the World Heavyweight Title. His next pay-per-view match after his return was a mid-card affair against Dolph Ziggler at Night of Champions. The following month he was reduced to being in the opening match. Eventually, he was placed back in the world title picture, but it was never the same again. Even the mighty can fall.

Roman will likely have to be on good behavior for awhile, and prove that something like this will never happen again. His boss will have his eye on him moreso than before, and won't quite trust him to carry a pay-per-view main event again until some time has passed.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
