6 WrestleMania Title Matches That Should Have Been Triple Threats

As good as it was to see Roman Reigns healthy in the middle of the ring on RAW this Monday night, basking in the support of the crowd, that has not always been the case.

Nobody was interested in a Reigns championship coronation at WrestleMania 32. This may have been the peak of his unpopularity, having been forced down the throats of a WWE fanbase that was bitter in the post-Daniel Bryan and CM Punk era, no more so then when he took a third successive Royal Rumble hostage before losing the WWE title to Triple H.

Simultaneously, this might have been the most popular that Ambrose ever was as a singles star. Indeed, it was ‘The Lunatic Fringe’ who was last eliminated from the Rumble to give HHH extra heat, rather than the man positioned as the company’s top babyface. ‘The Game’ defeated Ambrose, cast as little more than Reigns’ sidekick, at Network special Roadblock.

Ambrose was given a marquee feud against Brock Lesnar but was ultimately squashed on the big stage, and would have been better used as main event bait. Even if WWE were always going to put the belt on Reigns at AT&T Stadium, having Ambrose in the match would have at least retained intrigue in a WrestleMania that had a lot of fans switching off early.
