7 Big Talking Points For Daniel Bryan Wrestling In 2018
3. Will WWE Reconsider Their Stance?
The most common narrative surrounding Bryan's in-ring return is that WWE's doctors are the only thing holding him back, and once his contract winds down, he'll be free to do whatever he pleases. His current employers will never clear him, and it's fanciful to dream of seeing him compete inside a WWE ring again.
As things currently stand, this is 100% accurate. WWE's doctors will not give Bryan the "okay" in the current environment. Not only would they be risking his health, but they're a publicly traded company with boatloads of major sponsors they don't want to upset, and given the number of concussion-based class action lawsuits currently in play against the company, they won't want that kind of attention.
But what if things change?
What if those lawsuits are ruled in WWE's favour? What if Brock Lesnar decides to go, leaving WWE with a huge void of star power? What if the company doctors conveniently change their verdict?
The chances are minuscule, but not impossible. If the stars align perfectly, there's a chance WWE may just change their minds, but would Bryan be willing to stay put? Wrestling with WWE would certainly restrict him, but money talks, and nobody else could match their financial clout.
