Main event-level stables in NXT are something of a rarity, but the debut of Adam Cole on Saturday - which saw him align with fellow ROH alumni Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly - could be the beginning of something oh-so-sweet (bay-bay).

They share a history together already. Fish and O'Reilly held the ROH Tag Team belts three times, whilst Cole was also paired up with O'Reilly for a brief spell back in the early 2010s.

WWE is unlikely to make any explicit reference to this, of course, but some allusions to a gang of wrestling purists looking to take over the NXT landscape are possible.

With O'Reilly and Fish seemingly sizing up the tag division and Cole stepping into Bobby Roode's shoes as the brand's top heel, a championship clean-sweep by year's end could be on the cards.
