7 Candidates To Replace The Authority As WWE's New Figurehead
4. Kurt Angle
A WWE return for Kurt Angle is something that a lot of fans have hoped for ever since he mentioned it nearly every interview he did in 2014. It appears as though he's staying in TNA for now although with TNA's future very much in doubt there's a chance he could be free to go to WWE one day soon. We really don't know at this point. Since he's in his mid-40s it doesn't make sense to make him a full time wrestler. If they made him a GM that could then have a few matches in the year that would make sense. Angle's a legend that demands respect, so he'd be perfect in a role like that. Angle actually served as Smackdown GM for a period of time in 2004 when he had some injuries, but they didn't want to take him off the road. It only lasted for a few months. He's also been in a similar role in TNA for several months now. It's been so long since he was in WWE (2006) and in that kind of role that if he came back to do it he'd be fresh. That's why he's a great candidate for it.
