7 Early Match Predictions For NXT TakeOver: Houston

6. WWE United Kingdom Championship: Pete Dunne Vs. Killian Dain

Dain won’t be involved in the show-opening six-man tag, as he will be too busy challenging for Pete Dunne’s United Kingdom Championship. Where does that title go now? Dunne and Tyler Bate put on one of the best WWE matches of the year way back at TakeOver: Chicago in May, but Bate challenging again here would be a little redundant.

NXT could feasibly do a best two-out-of-three falls match, but it is unlikely that that match would get the time it needs on a time-short TakeOver show. Another option would be to run a British Strong Style triple threat, but Trent Seven has been something of a non-factor in WWE and NXT to date.

Killian Dain makes sense as a challenger to Dunne’s title, as he is completely unlike anything the 'Bruiserweight' has come up against so far. Dunne has mostly faced men of similar size, allowing him to frequently use the Bitter End to pick up victories, but he clearly won’t be able to do that against the former Big Damo.

The 'Beast of Belfast' should be next in line for the Bruiserweight.
