7 ECW Wrestlers Who Totally Failed In WCW

3. Mike Awesome

Mike Awesome was a beast in ECW. He was a guy that could wrestle anybody no matter what style they were and could have a good match any time. He was especially great against the smaller guys like Spike Dudley, but he also had some famous battles with Masato Tanaka in ECW too. When he went to WCW in April 2000 it was a surprise. He was actually the ECW Champion at the time, so he had to drop it to Tazz (who was under WWE contract). It seemed like WCW was going to do something with him as soon as they brought him in, but he stayed in the midcard and didn't really amount to much. http://youtu.be/BuTeADqlKj8 In the summer of 2000 he became "The Fat Chick Thrilla'" Mike Awesome because they loved doing stupid gimmicks that would never get over. Want to know why WCW died? Gimmicks like that. He became "The '70's Guy" too probably because one of the writers watched "That 70's Show" on TV in those days. They tried to re-invent him as more of a serious tough guy by the end of WCW's run, but it was too late. He ended up going to WWE after they bought them out. His entire WCW run lasted for about a year and it was a major letdown.
