7 Famous WWE Gimmicks Originally Intended For Other Superstars
6. The Ringmaster - Adam Bomb
As told by Bryan Clark himself to PWInsider;
"They actually pitched me the Ringmaster gimmick, which was later pitched to Steve Austin. So I'm guessing that they had, like, a catalog of these names, you know. And they said, 'No, no. You're gonna be Adam Bomb.' I was like, 'OK' because I liked Adam Bomb better than the Ringmaster. Yeah that's one of those things that they came up with. I don't know if Vince and Linda sit at home at night, have a few drinks and come up with these good and bad gimmicks. Who knows what the hell they do."
The implications for this could've been catastrophic for WWE. Imagine if Clark had taken the role and Austin was offered a midcard gimmick that suited his personality better, one that he could have been moderately successful with, never getting the burning desire within to forge his own path.
The 3:16 speech at the King of the Ring wouldn't have existed and subsequently WWE would've lost the biggest superstar of the Attitude Era, before he had begun. This revelation asks the question if the Attitude Era would've existed at all?
