7 Last-Minute AEW: Double Or Nothing 2020 Rumours
3. Brian Cage Is The Surprise Entrant
Possibly the most likely man to be the surprise 27th man in the ladder match is Brian Cage who, right before his injury, had as good as signed for the promotion full-time. He's reported on his own Instagram that he's been declared fit again so, naturally, here we are. He'll almost definitely be coming to AEW, it's just a matter of when.
He's buddies with pretty much everyone in the promotion, having either trained or worked with them all at some point and, most crucially of all, was fantastic in the battle royal at last year's All In. He'd have done plenty more with the company since if he hadn't torn his bicep.
On a purealy practical level Cage would be a great get for AEW because, well, not to sound like Vince McMahon but, look at him. None of the other Really Big Guys in the company (and there are many now) look anything like that and there's near-unlimited midcard-mileage in having him just thrown smaller guys across the ring.
Plus, big lumbering, former-Impact gymfreaks are great in multi-man ladder matches. Just look at EC3 at TakeOver that time...
