It's been a bizarre fortnight for "Daniel Bryan's Training Partner", as he's officially known. No sooner had he just put on a TV classic in the Intercontinental Championship Tournament at the tail-end of a great few months for himself on the main roster, was he gone from the company entire. Released entirely out of the blue and his name stricken from that week's social media highlights.

Even by WWE's bizarre standards, and in this world climate of everything just being bizarre all the time, this was bizarre.

However unlike his colleagues who were released on the eponymous Black Wednesday, Gulak would be entirely free to appear on Double or Nothing this weekend if he so wished owing to his lack of a no-compete clause. Even more interesting than that, is that despite how the company looked when it originally formed, AEW probably now needs another technical guy on its roster.

I know! After all that talk of it just being small and "solid" workers, there's now so many giant lumps and borderline acrobats that he'd fit right in there. Leading, naturally, the the reports that he'll do just that as the mystery man in the ladder match.
