7 Major Dean Ambrose WWE Matches That Totally Disappointed
3. Dean Ambrose Vs. Roman Reigns (Survivor Series 2015)
Needless to say, Seth Rollins' abrupt injury and subsequent relinquishing of the WWE World Championship came at the worst of times ahead of his anticipated encounter with Roman Reigns at Survivor Series. On the bright side, it did present WWE with an opportunity to create a new star from the tournament that was held to crown a new champion.
Sixteen Superstars battled for the right to become the new champion, but it was obvious from the get-go who it would dwindle down to: Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. Sure enough, both men advanced to the finals the night of Survivor Series, and it marked their first ever one-on-one match on the main roster. Which is why it's such a shame that it was beyond anticlimactic.
There was never a sense of urgency about the match, and the lack of excitement killed the contest. There weren't any swerves, surprises, twists or turns. It was a standard singles match that concluded with Reigns cleanly conquering his best friend to capture his premier WWE World Heavyweight title. Thankfully, they haven't met in one-on-one action since.
Who would have thought that Ambrose and Reigns would produce one of the worst main event title matches of 2015?
