7 Match Review From WWE House Show In Brighton, UK
4. US Title Match: Big Show Beat Rusev (With Lana) By Disqualification In 10:33
Rusev is a big guy but he was absolutely dwarfed by Big Show, who got the second biggest reaction of the night after Cena. Hes enormous in the flesh! However, the main attraction of the match for most male fans was the lovely Lana, wearing a skirt so short that it was almost a belt. As shouts of Youve dropped your pen! and Youve dropped a coin! were shouted out by fans at ringside, Lana seemed to revel in the attention and was happy to have her backside photographed, posing for a shot in a few cases. One ringsider managed to get a selfie with her backside in the background before being put back in his seat by security. The match itself was slow paced, as youd expect with super heavyweights in there, but Rusev did a lot more selling than he does on TV. I would expect that this is done on house shows to prepare him for more even contests which will need more selling from him as he moves up the card on TV and faces top level stars. Rusev went for the Accolade, but Big Show powered out of it. Frustrated by his efforts being thwarted, Rusev went outside the ring and grabbed a chair, attacking Show with it, leading to the disqualification. The ending felt a bit flat, and I think many people expected Rusev to win with the Accolade. As Big Show lay in the ring, Mark Henry came down the ramp, without any entrance music. I felt that his music would have added a bit more impact to things, not to mention that it IS great entrance music that he has. After stomping a prone Big Show for a few moments, Show recovered, got to his feet and delivered a knockout punch to send Henry crashing to the canvas to send the crowd into the interval happy.
